Pengician: Good day, Sir. May I know you?
HAVE YOU SEEN?
Arhiyor: My name is Chief Francis Omochovwen Arhiyor. I am the Chairman/C.E.O, Fara-Zino Nigeria Limited, Effurun, Delta State. I am the current Chairman, National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Uvwie division and the State Auditor of the union. I am the current President of the Urhobo Youth Leaders Association (UYLA), an Urhobo group that has presence in the 24 kingdoms in Urhoboland and our activities is to promote and pursue peace in these places.
Pengician: Why do you want to contest for the DTHA (Uvwie Constituency) seat come 2019?
Arhiyor: My ambition is hinged on a very strong passion to ensuring a quality life for my people. I want to see how I can contribute my own quota to the development of the Uvwie at the Delta State House of Assembly (DTHA) come 2019.
A MUST READ:
Pengician: What should the people of Uvwie expect from you if elected in 2019?
Arhiyor: I want to do things differently from the known conventional methods. The Uvwie people should expect quality representation. I will ensure the passage of peoples oriented bills, eradicate poverty, create wealth, create enabling environment for peace, make Education affordable, provide quality Healthcare, attract Housing and Employment.
In line with Gov Ifeanyi Okowa’s prosperity agenda for all Deltans, my mission is to facilitate and provide an enabling platform for sustainable free education at the tertiary level to Uvwie intelligent students, free health for cradle to old, provide affordable and decent social housing for the people, generate and facilitate employment and encourage business opportunities to all able-bodied Uvwie people and empowerment of Uvwie youths to become entrepreneurs and employers of labour.
Pengician: What are your chances with all the array of DTHA Aspirants in the Uvwie PDP?
Arhiyor: I am a man of my words and my people know me for that. I do not make empty promises or embark on projects that will not have any meaningful impact on lives. During the recent Delta Central Enlarged meeting of the party in Effurun, the State Chairman, Barr Kingsley Esiso made it clear that only credible and popular Aspirants will be nominated by the party. I possess all the qualities referred to by the chairman. l have the best chances to win the election for the PDP, if I am nominated by the party. There won’t be any opposition for all PDP candidates in Uvwie. The people will give 100% support to the Gov Okowa’s 2019 project.
Pengician: What are some of the steps you have taken to ensure victory?
Arhiyor: I wouldn’t want to praise myself on this. But we have gone far. I love using the word ‘we’ because I am not alone on this train. My team is working. The Arhiyor Political Vanguard is doing a very nice job. We have taken over Uvwie as we speak. My billboards, posters, handbills, etc. are everywhere in Uvwie. We have used our mouths as well to disseminate information. We have met the big and small in and around Uvwie for this. Friends and colleagues in and outside Uvwie have been of great help thus far.
Pengician: Any courtesy visit since this ambition? If yes; mention. If no, why?
Arhiyor: The support is massive. So far, we have paid and received several courtesy calls. The most publicized one was that of the Elder Statesman and former Governor of Delta State, Chief James Onanefe Ibori at Oghara. We have also held Town Hall meetings. We are working assiduously to ensure victory for the party and the leaders of the party in Uvwie do appreciate our efforts.
Pengician: How is your relationship with the current UVWIE Chairman?
HAVE YOU SEEN?
Arhiyor: My relationship with the Executive Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Council, Hon Ransom Tega Onoyake is very cordial. I also have a good working relationship with the party leaders in Uvwie. I have paid my dues and there are positive signs of general consensus on my candidature.
