[Facts] The Land Tenure Dispute: Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh Communities by Ighotegwolor Bezi
1) The dispute between Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh communities is over ownership of land.
2)Ogbe-Ijoh’s claims in material fact are contradictory and therefore a lie.
3) Of a truth Ogbe-Ijoh has no land there. They however have a presence there and have overtime evolved to become a Local Government headquarters (which is also in dispute at the Court) which cannot be ignored.
Unlike previous panels which only visited locus as the road between Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh, the Professor Ekoku’s panel went through the length and breadth of the land but curiously failed to explicitly capture the above facts in its findings.
It fell, unfortunately, to the untenable equal partitioning of the purported land in dispute in arriving at the traditional boundary between Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh communities.
