APJS is situated at Inyishi in Ikeduru local government area of IMO State, Nigeria.
The Principal, Mr. Babatunde A.O in collaboration with the staff of the above mentioned school has come to take what rightfully belong to them.
The school (APJS) has been like a fallowed farm piece of Land in the recent past for few hiccups from some quarters in managerial circles.
Monday, 23rd January, 2017 Staff term (beginning) meeting was held to discuss some of the issues facing the school.
So far so good, the principal, Mr. Babatunde A.O outlined some of the good and bad things so far in the school during the meeting.
The principal was the pioneer Youth Corps Member in 1998/1999 of the school who was later retained.
One Godson Ezechukwu was demoted as the ‘Labour Prefect’ right in the meeting of the staff held between 11.00am through 01.59pm.
According to all evidence that were presented at the meeting, the boy was found wanting in all.
His intimidation of junior students, his indiscipline to teachers (Youth Corps members) and other staff.
He was called right in the meeting and was relieved of his duty and was placed under ‘two-weeks’ probation to change his awkward behaviors or be expelled from the school with no remorse.
Wednesday, 25th January, 2017 at 07.48am at the Morning Assembly he was officially demoted before the entire school!
He was prayed for for almost 2 minutes for him to have a change of character inside-out. The entire school participated in the prayer session that was anchored by the Principal, Mr. Babatunde A.O.
The said boy is an SSS3 student who has duly registered for his West African Examination Council (WAEC) coming up in April/May 2017. He has vowed to turn a new leaf!
The school (APJS) is a WAEC approved center. And they don’t have problem(s) with population in SSS3.
Evening lessons has been instituted for those preparing for the WAEC already which has extended closing time for the Senior Secondary School 3 (SSS3) from 01.30pm till 4.00pm daily.
The meeting was adjourned at 01.59pm and refreshment followed.
It was equally an opportunity for the school to officially welcome their 2016/2017 Corps members:
➡Goodnews Andrew Eruemuare a.k.a SIR A-ONE
The first is a graduate of Linguistics/Urhobo from Delta State University, Abraka, Nigeria
and the second is a graduate of International Relations from Ecole University in Benin Republic.
Both were officially welcome.
They resumed since December, 2016 at APJS. They commenced teaching in January 16, 2017.
“The school is in a resurrection stage now and no form of indiscipline would be welcome from any quarter.”
The principal concluded.
The above mentioned school is purely academical and no seminary training whatsoever as the name suggested. This has followed a series of metamorphosis the school has undergone since its inception.
The school is owned by the Church of Nigeria popularly known as African church.
St. John’s Cathedral, Inyishi is really proud of their school.
The foundation stone of the church was laid on 25th December, 1982 by Rt. Rev. B.O. Ogbona.
The first African church mission (INC) was established in 1891.
The Church has been incharged of the school for a very long period. And they will never relent in instilling good behavioral patterns in the students morally and academically.
